Been a Muslim and woman in todays society

Lets talk about muslim women who chose to wear the hijab and wanting to live a normal life.
We are secluded from a lot of things. We have to literally fight with bones and teeth to get to a higher position at work or be noticed by brands etc..

Do you think because I have a piece of cloth on my head and because I choose to cover most part of my body means that I don’t do sport or could be an engineer or be the CEO of a company? Really and truly the piece of cloth on my head doesn’t cause my brain cells to stop working and the way I dress doesn’t mean I am a housewife, doing noting but serving my husband and looking after my kids.

If we are going to talk about religion, my faith gives me the right and freedom to operate and engage in the society with limits; some of which are to dress modestly, speak and be spoken to by the opposite sex with respect. This is going to open a lot of debates, but lets stay focused here…

The point I am making is that the world has advanced in so many ways, technologically, academically however we still think like we are still in the ….

A woman wearing a hijab doing sport or having a respectful job in a big company shouldn’t be so astonishing to see. Infact it is sunnah (part of religion) to exercise so don’t be weirded out if you see me working out and also it can be considered an act of worship if done with the right intensions my friend.

So the next time I see someone staring at me while training in the free weights area, well I will stare back! And now that I realise what I just said, I should probably lower my gaze lol.
